Sitting on the very important Senate Finance Committee, Senator Steven Hershey has consistently voted against legislation that would negatively impact the merit construction industry. Minority Whip since 2015, Senator Hershey has voted against the expansion of prevailing wage, predictive scheduling and unreasonable mandated sick leave legislation.
Hershey, who first began public service as a member of the House of Delegates in 2011, also serves on other committees impacting pro-enterprise interests, including the Senate’s Joint Committee on Unemployment Insurance Oversight and the Maryland Economic Development and Business Climate Commission. A leader committed to small business interests, Hershey has received a 100 percent rating from the National Federation of Independent Business.
