Legislator You Should Know

Delegate C.T. Wilson

Democrat, District 28, Charles County
Chair House Economic Matters Committee

For more than a decade, Del. C.T. Wilson—the new chair of the House Economic Matters Committee– has looked out for Maryland’s economic interests, serving on various economic legislative committees since taking office in 2011. He’s also worked with ABC on numerous occasions to remove the burden of unnecessary regulations on the construction industry.

During the 2021 legislative session, Del. Wilson chaired a joint legislative workgroup that was instrumental in helping ABC with amendments that lessen the effects of the Essential Worker bill. As the current chairman of the House Economic Matters Committee, Del. Wilson is working with ABC to amend HB 145 – Stop Work Orders legislation. This bill would authorize the Commissioner of Labor and Industry to issue a stop work order for each work site where the commissioner has made an initial determination that a contractor or subcontractor may have violated the prevailing wage requirements.

An Army veteran and former assistant state’s and private-practice attorney, Del. Wilson’s current committee assignments include the Executive Nominations Committee; the Legislative Policy Committee; and the House Cannabis Referendum and Legalization Workgroup (Chair, Business Implementation Subcommittee).
