Delegate Christopher T. Adams

Republican, District 37B, Caroline, Dorchester, Talbot, & Wicomico Counties

As president of both Value Carpet One, a Salisbury-based residential flooring contractor, and of S. Lee Smith Jr. Inc. a family-owned business in real estate and property management, Delegate Chris Adams understands firsthand the struggles facing today’s construction industry. Since taking office in January 2015, Adams has served on various business-related committees. As a member of the Economics Matters Committee, he continues to serve on the business regulation subcommittee; the property & casualty insurance subcommittee; and the unemployment insurance subcommittee. He is also the house chair of the Dorchester County Delegation.

Delegate Adams has been a proponent of the merit shop construction industry, helping to defeat in committee legislation which would have significantly increased the liquidated damage penalties on alleged prevailing wage violations.

Delegate Adams has also participated in numerous small business organizations, including as a member of the Maryland Leadership Council, the National Federation of Independent Business, and the Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce. From 2012 to 2014, Adams served as president of the Maryland and Northern Virginia Floor Covering Association.
