Donohoe Construction Continues to Shape the Landscape

Family-owned and operated, Donohoe Construction Company is one of the leading general contractors exclusively serving the Washington, DC Metro area, offering diverse construction expertise in multi-family residential, office, hospitality, senior living, mixed-use, interiors, parking garages, and higher-education projects.

Donohoe Construction began in 1955, as the general contracting and construction management services division of The Donohoe Companies, Inc., the metro area’s oldest full-service real estate business established in 1884. Since then, Donohoe Construction has served clients in both the public and private sectors with award-winning work.

Ranked as one of the “Top 25 General Contractors” in the region, according to the Washington Business Journal, Donohoe attracts top construction talent and enjoys a high level of employee tenure. The company’s “Safety First” culture extends from its employees to everyone else on or near a job site, giving the company an exceptional field safety record.

Not only has Donohoe shaped the DC-Metro landscape by the thousands of projects it has built, but Donohoe has also shaped the community through its various philanthropic efforts. Throughout the year, Donohoe arranges community service projects for employees to participate as a team. More than 40 employees recently provided a Montgomery County family with some needed home repairs, part of Donohoe Companies’ ongoing commitment to the Rebuilding Together, Montgomery County program, which provides critical repairs and renovations for low-income homeowners across the United States. Improvements to the home in Boyds, Maryland included new siding and doors, fence repairs, landscaping, painting, and a new patio and walkway.

Donohoe also supports several other charitable organizations, including Don Bosco Cristo Rey, Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund, JDRF Real Estate Games, KEEN Foundation, Marriott’s Bridges Foundation, Miriam’s Kitchen, and So Others Might Eat.
