Hirsch Electric Lights Up Cinemark in Towson Circle III

With Cinemark’s NextGen complex in Towson Circle III, going to the movies has never been more exciting or comfortable for both residents and visitors of the Baltimore area. The innovative multiplex features a cafeteria-style concession area and a full-sized arcade and offers an unparalleled cinematic experience unavailable until now.

Some of the luxuries include a state-of-the-art viewing environment featuring wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling screens, 4K digital projection, RealD 3D capabilities, along with enhanced sounds systems and Cinemark’s XD: Extreme Digital Cinema auditorium. For the first time in the United States, this location showcases Cinemark’s new VIP-style ‘Reserve Level’. Guests are invited to enjoy deluxe rocker-style seating with tables, a full bar and lounge, expanded dining options featuring restaurant-quality items, and a private balcony entrance in five of its auditoriums. In addition to the amenities provided by the theatre, customers are offered the convenience of an adjoining multi-level parking garage with over 860 parking spaces.

Baltimore-based Hirsch Electric, LLC, served as the electrical contractor of Cinemark’s new 15-screen theatre and adjacent garage. The $3.6 million extensive electrical package required the expertise of 30 highly-skilled electricians throughout the project’s construction. There were over 750 light fixtures and 4,000-ft. of LED strip lighting installed throughout the 93,000 square feet of the cinema, as well as the 900 lights installed inside of the 276,500 square foot parking garage. Hirsch Electric also installed two generators, the fire alarm system, switchgear, a radio repeater system, a lightning protection system, and a snow melt system for the egress balconies of the theatre. The garage features an energy efficient occupancy sensor, control system and an area of rescue system for the safety of its customers.

Despite working through the freezing conditions brought on by a tough winter, Hirsch Electric and TN Ward, the general contractor, worked together tirelessly to complete the Cinemark complex on time and within budget.
