After a tight 15-week timeline, Crofton-based general contractor, BuilderGuru Contracting, Inc., converted and renovated 8,000 square feet of a once-tired and casual eatery into the upbeat, upscale restaurant Blackwall Hitch, a hit dining spot since its opening in 2014.
Located in Eastport, just over the Spa Creek Bridge from the Annapolis historic district, the transformation of Blackwall Hitch included completely gutting the existing Rockfish restaurant. The new, inviting space features several large and intimate dining areas, one with a cozy fireplace, a main bar and oyster bar, a spacious rooftop deck with waterviews, musical entertainment space, as well as a VIP room dubbed “The Ling Room”.
BuilderGuru worked diligently to protect the historical significance of the existing building while creating a modern architectural space. BuilderGuru also worked on renovations to the building’s façade. The new roof design works in tandem with zero run-off and a green parking lot. A large wire and wood floating staircase graces the 3-story entrance which ties in nicely with this nautical themed restaurant situated on the corner of 6th Street and Severn Avenue.
